Dog Policy
At Carlton House Guesthouse, we are very pleased to welcome well-behaved dogs.
As a coastal guesthouse, we know that many of our guests enjoy bringing their four-legged companions away with them, and we are happy to accommodate them whenever possible.
To help make sure that all guests have a comfortable and relaxing stay, we ask that anyone wishing to bring a dog reads and accepts our Dog Policy by email or text before arrival.
This policy will be sent at the time of booking, and we kindly ask guests to let us know in advance if they plan to bring a dog, including its breed and age. If a guest intends to bring a dog without informing us beforehand, or does not agree to the policy, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation.
Please note that payment details will be securely held until the day after check-out in case any dog-related damage needs to be addressed.
One small or medium-sized dog may stay free of charge in each room. Additional dogs may be accepted for a small nightly charge, so please enquire at the time of booking. Each room can accommodate either two small dogs or one medium-sized dog.
Larger dogs may be accepted in certain circumstances, including assistance dogs, at the owner’s discretion and subject to room suitability.
Dogs must sleep in their own bed, and guests are asked to bring a separate towel for drying them after walks. Please do not use guest towels for your dog.
Dogs should not be left unattended in the room unless they are calm, settled, and secure in their carrier. Please also remember to bring your dog’s own bed.
Dogs are welcome throughout the property, provided they are well behaved and considerate of other guests. However, they are not permitted on beds or furniture at any time.
If your dog is prone to barking or anxiety, we kindly ask you to consider whether they are likely to settle comfortably during their stay. Excessive noise or disturbance to other guests may result in us asking guests to vacate the property.
Any damage caused by a dog will remain the responsibility of the owner.
For the comfort and safety of all guests, dogs must be up to date with vaccinations and treated for parasites. Please confirm this by email or text before arrival.
Guests must also confirm by email or text that they have read, accepted, and agree to comply with this policy before arrival.
Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to welcoming you and your dog to Carlton House Guesthouse.
